About:China Tourist Visa

I'm a U.S. citizen currently staying in the Philippines.
Do I really need to submit a copy of hotel reservation for visa application?
I already have flight reservation and I just want to decide where I want to stay when I get there. Will I have problems when I submit my application in the consular office here in Manila?

Ms.maridee, it is very hard to give you an assuring answer, you can try to submit the application to China embassy in Manila without the hotel reservation.

I hear that the embassy in Manila refuses to issue visa to temporary visitors, if you work or reside in Philippines, it is possible for you to get one.
