About:Chinese Consulate in Calgary

The entire family of a friend of mine are in Beijing. His daught was born in Calgary in 1997 and is studying in Beijing. My friend wants to apply for a Chinese permanent resident status for her daught in Beijing. What kind of documents are needed from the China Consulate in Calgary? My friend said that the birth certificate of his daught and his expired "maple-leaf card" need to be nortorized by the consulate. Is he on the right track? Thank you for your reply.

If your friend wants to apply for a Chinese permanent residence permit for her daughter in Beijing, her daughter should satisfy the below conditions:
1. unmarried children under 18 years old
2. one of her parents is Chinese passport holder or China Permanent Residence Permit holder
3. she has a foreign nationality

It's true that the birth certificate of her daughter should be authenticated by China consulate in Calgary. But the expired maple-leaf card is not required.
