I am an American visiting Switzerland as a tourist.  I have a friend that is visiting China soon and would like to fly to China and visit with him.  Is it possible as a US Citizen to apply for a tourist visa for China in Bern, Switzerland?

Mr.Jim Jones, in principal, China embassy in Bern, Switzerland only accepts Swiss applicants and aliens who reside/work in Switzerland, for non-Swiss applicants, the Swiss Residence permit or work permit is required to provide. I'm afraid that your application will be denied, but you can have a try, Good Luck!
