About:China Visa Application in USA

I am a US citizen going to visit my nephew teaching in Wuxi, and we will be touring around Shanghai and Wuxi. My nephew is also a US citizen. For the visa, what is the purpose of my trip? Visiting a relative? Or tourism?

Both are Ok, the visa type you need is China Tourist visa (L). For purpose of visiting relative, you may need documents from your nephew, such as copies of his passport, China visa, etc. Anyway, it is easy for you to get an L visa to China.
