About:Chinese Embassy in U.S.A.

I was in the process of trying to move to China to get married and teach as well, but my dad has turned ill and is dying of cancer.

Can you tell me what type of Visa that I will need to apply for?
Also, I have heard that I need to bring so many records with me as well. Like something showing that I have no arrest, birth certificate, divorce certificate, doctor results from exams and to have them translated into Chinese as well. Since I am having to do so very many things, can you tell me if there is anything else I will need to take as well.
I hope to live the rest of my life there after getting married as well.
I have been trying to learn as much as I can about China's culture and ways. I know that it is very hard to become a citizen, but I am determined to do whatever it takes so that my wife will not have to leave her home and family.
So, if there is anything that you could help with or point me in the right direction to find some reading on the subjects, I am willing to look and listen to anything that will help me and my life in China.

thank you...Joel (Yang Guang)

Mr.joel tedder, it's true that you need to prepare the Police Clearance Certificate from a police station in USA, Birth Certificate, Divorce Certificate and Affidavit of Single Status, you don't need the doctor results from examination, you need take these documents to a notary public and translate them into Chinese version, signed before a notary public, then certified by the Secretary of the State Office of the state where the document is executed, at last certified by China embassy/consulate in USA according to the consular districts. Please read Marriage Registration in China(https://www.travelchinaguide.com/embassy/visa/marriage-registration.htm) for more information.

After getting the marriage license, you can go to the local Exit & Enter Department to apply for one year Residence Permit for family visit(https://www.travelchinaguide.com/embassy/visa/family-visit-permit.htm) It is very hard to get China Permanent Residence Permit(https://www.travelchinaguide.com/embassy/visa/permanent-residence-permit.htm)
