About:Mutianyu Great Wall

As I know near the route number of the bus is mentioned it's final destination since there can be several of them for one route number.
Maybe someone knows what hieroglyphs are written at the 936 bus that goes directly to Mutianyu Great Wall??? Is it "Mutianyu Great Wall" written with the hieroglyphs or there is some not touristic name for the place this bus comes to?

you can see 936路区间 or 936路支 on the head of the bus. After this, it will also have the starting and ending stop. These bus will all go to Huairou Bus Station. No Mutianyu Great Wall written on the bus. No 936 bus directly to Mutianyu now. It only serves in peak season. No Mutianyu Great Wall written on the bus.

I just got back from China this second. We were at Mutianyu two days ago. The 936 was not running. We took the 916, which was Y11 from Dongzhimen Station. Then, we took a hired car (there were just two of us) to the wall for Y25 each. The driver waited for us and drove us back to the bus stop for Y25 plus Y5 for parking.

When at the wall, if you are taking the cable car up, I suggest making sure they don't sell you a round trip cable car ticket at hte ticket office, just a one-way, then when you get up go right on the wall and walk to where the ski lift / toboggan is from there. Then, buy a single trip down. If you do not do that and you are not going to climb up (we did not climb up, I have a knee problem) then you have to walk back to the original cable car which you may, or may not feel like doing, we did not.

I hope this info gets to you in time to help. If you have more questions let me know.

My other advice is don't take any ricksaws and make sure any taxi you take turns its meter on they'll charge you four times as much as your trip should be if you don't.

Have a great time!

Thank you for your answers and advices.
Mrs Minges: Can you tell me please how did you know that the 936 bus was not running?
Mr James : Do you know perhaps 936 doesn't go to the wall because of low season? I am planning to be in Beijing in the beginning of April. Perhaps the buses will be running to the wall in April?

Ms. Firda, there is no official notice that 936 doesn't go now, but it doesn't matter wheter it is running or not, since you can also take Bus 916 to Mutianyu as well.
