If I'm not wrong, you plan to stay at hangzhou and take a train to Shanghai, right? So I advise you stay in a hotel near the city's Railway Station Like Best Western Premier Richful Green Hotel or Nanyuan Inn (Qingchun Road). As for the train tickets, you may buy it when you arrive or book it in advance through Hangzhou Trains(https://www.travelchinaguide.com/china-trains/hangzhou-schedule.htm), from where you may get the train schedule and tickets price and choose a proper one. There are many attractions in Shanghai(https://www.travelchinaguide.com/attraction/shanghai/) like Huangpu River & the Bund, Yuyuan garden, Nanjing Road, Jade Buddha Temple, Etc.
