About:China Visa Fees

Hi, we hired a filipina maid in Beijing less than a month ago to help us with our newborn baby. At the time she told us that her visa was going to expire in one month. We have just found out that it actually expired a few days before she started to work for us. She has now overstayed her Chinese visa by 20 days. I understand that if she reports herself to the PSB they will make her pay a 5000rmb fine, issue her a short temporary visa of 2-3 days for her to buy a plane ticket, and then deport her. Is there any way around this, since she has not overstayed that long yet; i.e. is there any way to apply for a new visa here in BJ? If she gets deported, what is the fastest way for her to apply for another chinese visa so she can come back? What period of time will she have to wait before she can re-apply? Is there another kind of visa she can apply for first, like maybe a student one?

Thanks!

It is not easy for her to get a visa within Mainland China because she is just a domestic helper and overstayed 20 days. You can go to the local police station and the Beijing Exit & Enter Department to enquire it. I'm afraid that she has to return to Philippines and wait for 6 months to apply for a new China visa.
