i would like to fly to fuzhou, spent a couple of days in the city then go on to wuyishan. what is the best way for the 2 places, its distance and transportation alternatives, since i may need to return to fuzhou for ongoing flights.

You can take train from Fuzhou to Wuyishan. It is about a 5-6 hours train journey between the two places. You may check China Train Schedule(https://www.travelchinaguide.com/china-trains/)  to look for the details of the train, including it departure time and ticket price.
