How is the weather in Beijing on 26, Dec? is it possible to do some sightseeing and shopping?

It is already very cold here that I have worn my warmest winter clothes. The cold weather will not influence shopping in Beijing, to be opposite, there are grand sales close to the New Year. As for sightseeing, these attractions in Beijing are open all the same but you will feel chilly to walk around them, most of which are outdoors. should i take off my winter coat during shopping in shopping complexes in winter..i am afraid i would look like a trunk with shopping stuff along with my winter jacket..:)
