I have an 8 hour wait at the airport between flights. I travel on a swiss passport. I don't have a Chinese Visitor visa. My tickets are electronic. Can I go to downtown Shanghai for a few hours without a visa and if it is possible, what does immigration need beside a passport and what are the cost? My luggage is checked through from departure to final destination.
Kind regards
A Tobler

I think you do not need a Chinese visa. Swiss had been a Schengen country, right? So you can stay in Shanghai and go downtown without a visa. Nothing special needed and paid, except showing your ticket. You should have some receipt or other documents of the electronic ticket, right?! So, you can go ahead to the downtown.
