my tita from california will visit philippines on april they are planning to visit great wall after their vacation from the philippines, does she needs tourist visa going there?how and where to apply?

Sure. The tourist visa will be needed for foreigners to visit China. I suggest your tita contact her local Chinese embassy for more information and handle the visa before she enter China. Good Luck!
