I want to go to Xinjiang during Chinese New Year 2011, please tell me more of Tourist attraction and weather.

It is chilly and snowy then in Xinjiang. For attraction sites, maybe Heavenly Lake and red hill in Urumqi, Ancient City of Gaochang in Turpan. But please note that some natural sites might be closed if it snows.

Dear Shirley, welcome to Xinjiang during Chinese New Year's Day (the Spring Festival) ! here are some major cities weather conditions in xinjiang today (Dec 27,2010):

Urumqi:light snowy,-13 to -5 Centigrade
Turpan:breezy,-7 to -4 Centigrade
Kashgar: sunny,-10 to -3 Centigrade
Hamilton:cloudy to light snow,-15to-8 Centigrade
Altay: light snow to cloudy,-24to-14 Centigrade
Karamay:Snow Showers -14 to -8,Centigrade
Yining: sunny -17 to -9,Centigrade

if you come during New Year's Day (Feb,2011 )the temperature will slight down than today.
