About:Chinese Embassy in France

I live and work in China currently. One of my French friends would like to visit me in China. He came once in the beginning of this year (2010), when there hasn't been no need yet of certificate of insurance; proof of occupation or income or bank account statement. He has no these statements recently.

I heard that the update of these requirements is due to the Expo in Shanghai, since it is finished now, are those documents still must? If yes, that means he could not get a visit visa even thought I would like to sponsor his whole trip?

The certificate of insurance, proof of occupation or income or bank account statement are still required for China tourist visa application, this visa policy has been carried out for French citizens since May 10, 2010. He cannot get a tourist visa to China even though you sponsor his whole trip.
