About:Chinese Embassy in Australia

Hi

My colleague and I are currently in Germany on our way to China. We both have Australian passports (with Chinese Visa's). Unfortunately my colleague had his passport stolen while in Germany. We have received a replacement Australian passport here in Germany and upon asking the Chinese embassy for a visa were told this cannot be done as we are not German residents. We are due to arrive in Hong Kong in 4 days, can we apply for a visa there? what are the chances of success and what information do we need? I have the business invitation and passport photo and application form. Is there anything else. Please reply urgently

thanks in advance.

Your colleague can have a try to apply for China visa in Hong Kong, however, it is hard to say whether he can get it or not because of the Asian Games, the visa policy becomes strict. Besides the business invitation letter, passport photo, application form and passports, Under some circumstances, the applicants may be required to provide financial proof, a copy of Chinese hotel booking and return flight ticket booking.
