Hi, I have valid work permit in Malaysia and I applied for Hong Kong visa a month ago, but they did not call me to tell me if I got the visa. I keep trying calling their number 03-21636815, 21636827 and 21636850-51 but no one picks up. Do you know of any other number, as the embassy is very far for me to travel to just find the status :(

That is to say you had submited your visa application to Chinese embassy in pakistan? They didn't call you. Maybe they send your application to HK Immigration Department, it will last for about one months. so, just wait for few more days.

No. I live in Malaysia from 10 years on work permit. Today I realised that my husband current work permit is only left 4 months while mine is valid for one more year. So i hope they are considering us together, otherwise i am almost ready to hear the bad news :(
