About:Chinese Embassy in Japan

I saw that the visa fee for a US citizen visiting China is $140 USD. I will be getting the visa at the Consulate in Tokyo since I currently reside in Japan. Can I pay in US dollars, or will I be charged Japanese yen? I saw somewhere that the visa is 16000 yen, which is quite a bit more than $140. Also, may I apply for visas for my entire family (5 in all, including three small children), or do they all need to go to the consulate? Thank you!

The visa fee will be charged in Japanese Yen. You can apply for visas for your family, but the needed documents should be sufficient for every member of your family. Sometimes, the visa officers may ask for an interview when necessary.
