About:Beijing Transportation

Hi! I am reaching Beijing on 11th Oct 2010 for the first time. We will be staying at Park Plaza Beijing Wangfujing. We would like to go there from the airport by taxi. Can you tell me, what is the distance and the approximate taxi fare? How far is the Silk Market, Panjiayuang, Summer Palace, Olympic Site, Xidan, Beihai Park, Houhai Lake and Fragrant Hills Park from Wangfujing? To go to the Great Wall, do I need to book a tour first and then go there or can I just land up at Badaling? Without a tour group, is it possible to go to the Ming Tombs on my own? And lastly, what is the weather like? Is it warm during the day and chilly and windy at night?

I know I am asking a lot of questions, but I would be extremely grateful if I get some assistance. Thanks a ton in advance.

Hi，it is about 27km from the airport to Park Plaza Beijing Wangfujing and the taxi fare is about CNY80-100.
From Wangfujing, it is about 5km to Silk Market, 8km to Panjiayuan, 21km to Summer Place, 10km to Olympic Site, 4km to Xidan, 6km to Beihai Park, 6km to Houhai Lake, 21km to Fragrant Hills Park.
To the Great Wall, you can land up at Badaling by yourself, but I advise you to book a tour. You can also go to the Ming Tombs on your own, but it will be easy with a tour group. And I think Travelchinaguide is a good choice.
Hi, the temperature will be about 10-20C at that time. It will be warm during the day and cool at night.
