About:Hong Kong Visa Policy

Hi,
I believe for a duration of under 14 days, an Indian passport holder travelling to Hong Kong as a visitor, does not require a Visa, or rather gets a visa-on-arrival.

I am planning to visit HK for 7 days in October. What I would like to know is that apart from holding an Indian passport (valid for a few more years), a confirmed return ticket already paid for, is there any other requirement that I should meet? The travel is purely of a visiting nature, to catch up with my brother, who has been living in HK for the last 11 years.

Is there anything apart from the ticket and passport that the immigration authorities will check for? I've read on a forum that they would also look for hotel bookings for the period of stay. Since I shall be staying with my brother, do I need a letter from him stating that I shall be staying with him? Or do I need to carry bank statements supporting the fact that I have adequate funds to stay for a week? Or just a confirmed ticket will do?

I do have a couple of international credit cards as well as a USD Forex card with sufficient balance from my last trip to another country, that I shall be carrying along.

Thanks.

Yes, you need an invitation letter sign by your brother. sometimes, you need to provide bank statement. So, better prepare for it in advance.
