About:China Visa Application in USA

i am an american citizen, living in belgium. i will be traveling to shanghai for the world expo, and then going to thailand for vacation. my flight back home is from thailand, back to shanghai, and then to europe. will i need a double entry to return after thailand, even if i'm only entering the chinese airport? we arrive from thailand to shanghai in the evening, and then leave shanghai to paris at midnight. thanks,

if you hold through ticket from Thailand to Shanghai, Shanghai to Paris and have booked seats on international airliners flying directly through Shanghai airport, you don't need a China visa for the second entry, otherwise, you need a double-entry visa.
