About:Chinese Embassy in U.S.A.

Hi,

I am planning on going to Shanghai, from Philadelphia. I would like to buy a one way ticket, and traveling on a tourist visa. I have been in China for the past two years but only on round trip tickets (coming home to the States once a year), on Multiple-Entry Tourist Visa.

Is it possible to travel to Shanghai on a one-way ticket (without proof of onward travel)? Although, I will be traveling to Sri Lanka in January but planning on coming back to Shanghai (because my girlfriend lives there) and don't know when the next time I'll be coming back to the USA will be.

I have heard that airlines sometimes will not let you board with out a return ticket. Is that true?

Thanks!

it's true that airlines sometimes will not let tourists board without a return ticket. You can check it with the airline which you want to book flight ticket.
