About:Taipei Transportation

I am planning to go to Hualien from Taipei by TzeChiang or Chu Kuang Train.
I was told to take the train that goes from Taipei--> Hualien, total nraly 3 hours.
However when I checked the train schedule online, both for TzeChiang (TC) and Chu Kuang(CK) Trains originates from Shulin, not Taipei. Where is Shulin Station and how do I get there? Is there any difference between TC or CK trains since both take same time to reach Hualien but CK fares are cheaper.

Additionally, what's the most economical way (and what's the cost?)to get back to Taipei from SML (I will be staying at SML after visiting Toroko)

Thank you in advance for any replies.

Hi, the trains don't originate from Taipei, but the trains would stop at Taipei before heading to Hualien.

For SML, I'm not sure where is this place, could you make it clearer?
