About:Chinese Embassy in Switzerland

Good Day,
I am planning to book a flight from Switzerland to Bangkok and from there to Kunming/Yunnan. My plan then is to travel by bus & train all the way down to Ho Chi Minh in Vietnam. So my return ticket back to Switzerland will be from Ho Chi Minh. I read on the internet that my China Visa might be refused when planning to fly directly into Yunnan instead of Shanghai/Beijing. Is this tru and if yes why?
What sort of travel information do I need to bring to the Chinese Embassy? A simple letter stating my flights? Will a one night hotel booking confirmation in Kunming be sufficient.
Thank you very much.

To date I never heard of this, you can provide the ticket to Yunnan when you apply for a visa to China. And plus your detail travel itinerary and related tickets. One night hotel reservation is ok.
