About:China Tourist Visa

Hello, my situation is a little complicated. I'm currently in China with a 90 day travel visa. I was supposed to change my visa over to a business visa but where I was suppose to work does not have the proper paperwork to give me a business visa. Therefore, I'm here on vacation just visiting my fiance. The problem is that my visa is going to end very soon. I read and my fiance talked to the local government office and they said that I can change my tourist visa to a 1-month temporary business visa, and then from then change the 1-month temporary business visa, back to another 3 month tourist visa. Therefore, I can stay in China for 4 more months. Is this possible? I want to know if this can work because I have to leave the country in the next couple of weeks. Please help!

Are your wife a Chinese citizen? if yes, now you are eligible to apply for a longer stay family visit visa or a residence permit(https://www.travelchinaguide.com/embassy/visa/family-visit-permit.htm) valid for one year at most. But if the person from her local government said so, you can believe it.
