About:Shanghai Travel

I am a US citizen. I intend traveling from Manila to Shanghai with my Philippina wife (she has a US permanent resident "green card". Do we both need letters of invitation? Neither of us knows anyone in China - where can we get an invitation? Do we both need to show financial statements? What is the minimum bank balance to apply for a visa?
Thanks for your help!

You'd better apply for tourist visas to China through Chinese embassy or consulate in US according to where you reside. For tourist visa to China, you both are not required invitation letters. In addition, your wife may need to provide her valid US visa or the original and a photocopy of certificates for permit of residence.
