About:Chinese Embassy in Australia

Thanks for reply Mrs Vivian
I asked the question , can I purchase a unit/apartment ( they call it a house )in Xian China in my own name, You confirmed that I can previously even though I am an Australian Citizen and intend to live in it and eventually with my wife who at present is my Fiance. The next question is, How? Do I have to register my self with a Chinese name first. If so how and where. Are the arrangements any different for me a foreigner purchasing a property than a Chinese Citizen purchasing a property. Does it cost me anything different.Do I just attend the housing office in Xian with the seller and go through the same process of paying the purchase price or deposit plus the Government fees ( and are they any different) etc and then wait the 3 weeks for the Property ownership certificate with my name on it. Can I purchase the property with my fiance before we are married and have both our names on the Property ownership certificate . Regards W

Mr. Shadoan, you'd better consult a laywer who is experienced with the case of property and overseas marriage.
