About:Chinese Embassy in India

Hello sir/m'am,
I am a student, aged 23 years. I have a friend in "Ningbo, Zhejiang, China". I want to visit her on the chinese new year 2011 (perhaps gregorian 13 February). I dont have any other reason for the visit, like study or job or resident. We are just aimed to meet each other. It will be for 5-7 days.
Please guide me what are the requiremnts for the permit. And How much will it cost (apart my living expenses and flight)
Also Which kind of visa is needed (if so), as I somewhere read that their is no need of visa if the stay is of less than 14 days. What kind of Interrogation i will need to face. And when should I apply for the permit.

Also tell me any other relevant information, that i missed out!

Thanks!

You need to apply for China Tourist Visa (L visa), Indian nationals are exempt from a visa to Hong Kong for up to 14 days, you are not exempt from a visa to Mainland China. the requirements are:
1. your passport and its copy of information pages
2. Application form
3. One recent passport size photograph.
4. Covering letter from your company or employer addressed to the visa office
5. Photocopy of a confirmed return air ticket
6. financial certificate, first-time applicants need to provide bank account with at least 1.5 lacs.

You'd better apply for the China visa in early January after the New Year's Year.
