You can apply for a tourist (L) visa to China at Chinese Visa Application Service Centre in New Delhi or Mumbai. But if you are from West Bengal, Orissa, Bihar, Chhattisgarh or Jharkhand, should apply at the Chinese consulate in Kolkata. The requirements for L visa are as follows:

1. Application form of people's republic of China.
2. Applicant's passport valid for at least six months with at least 2 blank visa pages.
3. One recent passport size photograph.
4. One Passport photocopy.
5. Applicants may be requested to supply proof of travel expenses. If you apply at the center and for the first time to China, you are required to submit Original Bank Certificate with minimum balance of Rs 1.5 lacs.
6. Photocopy of a confirmed return air ticket.
