About:China Embassy in Thailand

I want to extend my Chinese visa for another 6 months, right now it is an F but it doesn't necessarily need to be another F visa renewal, it can be a 6 month L since I don't have an invitation letter. My current F visa expires the 31st of August, and since I was already planning a trip to Thailand I was wondering if applying for the L visa in Bangkok is going to be an easy and successful process? Or would I really be better off renewing it here in China before my trip?

I would definitely try to renew in China. You will probably need some support: the invitation letter etc. It could be worth spending the money using a visa agent if you do not have a strong case and support for a visa yourself.
