About:

we are wanting to go to beijing and use the city transportation system. we want to see the great wall section that is 43 miles out. does anyone know anything about doing it
this way?

Do you mean go to Badaling Great Wall by using public transportation mode? You can take Bus 919 from downtown to Badaling.
