Hi, my partner and I are both UK citizens on an E2 visa in South Korea. We don't have 6 months left on our ARC card but we did visit China in July 2010 - however this was just a layover in Guangzhou airport (twice). We have stamps in our passport, including a 1 day temporary stay visa for China to say we have been. Is this enough to meet the requirements? Thanks!

Yes, sorry.We heard that if you don't have six months left on your ARC BUT you have been to China in the past two years, then you can apply for a tourist visa.We have already been to China, but this was only for 1 night as a layover between connecting flights. We didn't have a tourist visa - we just have a stamp in our passports to say we had a 1 day temporary stay permit.So, we want to go to China in September, but we don't know if we will be able to get the tourist visa, because we haven't had a tourist visa previously, only a stay permit for 1 day. Ms.Victoria, it's true that the 1 day stay permit is not counted as China tourist visa, you don't satisfy the condition that you can apply for a tourist visa to China if you have been to China in the past two years when you don't have the alien registration card valid for at least 6 months. according to the previous questions and answers, you can apply for the China visa through the China consulate in Pusan which doesn't ask applicants to provide the alien registration card valid for at least 6 months. You can get lots of useful information from their experience.
