About:Chinese Embassy in U.S.A.

Hello, I'm planning on applying for a visa for China soon, and I was born in China, and became a US citizen and got my passport few years ago. I looked over the requirement on the Chinese consulate site which states (for tourism): "An applicant who was born in China is required to submit his /her Chinese passport or last foreign passport with a Chinese visa when he/she applies for a Chinese visa with a new foreign passport."

I am no longer in possession of my chinese passport, I tried calling but only got automated machines and couldn't reach a person. Will there be a problem with application without my Chinese Passport? I plan on driving to the consulate but it's very far and don't want to make more than one trip.

Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

Mr.Zhang, it's true that is will be a problem for China visa application without your Chinese passport, now, if you can't contact the consulate, you have to go to the consulate to enquire it, you can prepare all other requirements besides the Chinese passport, if you can submit the application, you can submit it directly
