About:Shanghai Travel

Hi,

I plan to go to Shanghai this Sep and looking for a hostel. Many sites recommend Phoenix Hostel in Yunnan Road (near People Square) but can't find its email. Does anyone can help me on this or recommend other places to stay? I prefer somewhere near either the center or the metro which takes me to nearly everywhere of the city.

Tks a ton

Hi Ms. Quynh,

I'm quite familiar with the area around People's Square, and there is a Phoenix Hostel at 17 South Yunnan road. I have never stayed there, but I can say that the area is very central...perfect for shopping and has great restaurants & transportation connections.

Ms. Quynh - I almost forgot to say...that if this is your first time visiting China you will love Shanghai. The food is fantastic and the weather in Sept/Oct is usually very comfortable..its my favorite time to be there! So enjoy!

Ms. Quynh,
What days are you going to be in Shanghai? Even though the Phoenix may be unavailable, the Mingtown Hostel is also in a great location! It is very near Peoples Square just behind the JW Marriott hotel. Plus the weather should be good in Sept...I'm going to be there myself on business during this time and am looking forward to the good weather and good restaurants. You can let me know if you need any more info.

Ms. Quynh,
I recently asked one of my local Shanghai co-workers about the Mingtown Hostel...they thought it has a pretty good place and mentioned the good location. Overall should be a good choice.
