About:Chinese Embassy in South Korea

I have a Chinese X visa(study) that is set to expire in 2 days. I was originally there to study but then managed to get an internship that runs until August 7. It was recommended to me that I just let my current visa run out and then get a tourist visa for the remainder of the internship. Given how easy and straight forward the process was when I got the first visa in Hong Kong, I very stupidly thought it would be equally straight forward in Korea. My return flight to Beijing is booked for July 18 so any help would be appreciated. Does anyone have any advice? What is my best option here and who should I go to?

Since the rule in Korea has changed in last few days, it is almost impossible for you to apply for a China visa through chinese Embassy in Korea. So, you'd better apply a new one from Hong Kong if possible.
