About:Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport

i am a Canadian and my girlfriend and i were denied our flight by the staff of the Hanoi International Airport. We had a 14 hour layover in Guangzhou and they insisted that we needed a visa for this layover. They said that we cannot stay 14 hours in the airport without a visa. we ended up having to spend alot of money that day setting up other travel arrangments. Is this true that we need a visa for a 14 hour layover? we are now attempting to get a refund for our missed flight? any advice?

(1) Purchasing the traveler's insurance protect against unexpected expenses as you experienced, which it seem you did not purchase. (2) If you had a reservation for next flight and the delay was airline faults, you have a claim with the airline.
