About:Dress Code in China

I'm attending an international conference in university this August. Do I have to wear business suit/formal dress for the whole 3days during the conference? At the same previous conference, some younger people wear casual dress mostly because they consider it was part of campus activities. Please give me some insight. Thanks so much for any replies.

It is not good to wear too casual, no need to wear too formal, but I think suit/formal dress/shirt skirt are all fine.
