About:Shanghai Pudong Airport

I booked a flight from Bangkok to Detroit with Delta. The BKK-PVG leg, though, is on China Eastern Air, and the PVG-DTT leg is on Delta.
1. Are the two in different terminals?
2. Can I check my luggage through from BKK to DTT, or will I need to pick it up in PVG and re-check it?
3. Does this transfer involve going through immigration? I have no visa for China.
Thank you!

1. China Eastern is in Terminal 1 and Delta in Terminal 2. Different terminals.
2. you need to re-check
3. Do not go through immigration. no need to have a visa. You can leave Shanghai airports without a visa in fact, if the stopover is within 48 hours. It is valid for US and other 20 countries' passports.
