About:Hangzhou Travel

I have never been to China but I have heard that Hangzhou is the place to live if I want to retire in China.
If I decide to retire in Hangzhou from U.S., is it possible?
Any special process I need to take care of?
What do I need to bring?
How much money do I need per month, if I live like the locals.
I might even get a job at COMAC in Shanghi since I have extensive experience in aviation/avionics and use the train for transportation.
Thanks,
Shane

I think that you shoud apply for a China working visa or a residence permit firstly.

As for the cost, I think you should prepare around CNY5,000/month at least, including renting a standard apartment.

Mr. Wang,

Truly can you live like the locals? Yes, you can by foregoing the comforts of USA. Your problem is China permanent residency, presently not available for foreign retirees. Your options are limited, temporary residence per the worker's/investor's/visitor's visa that can be renewed.

I live part-time in Shenzhen, bordering HKG.
