About:Chinese Embassy in Pakistan

For PhD studies what type of visa I do need to apply for and what is the validity of it and what to write in number of entries in visa form?

you need to apply for student visa (X visa). Generally speaking, the X visa is valid for one entry, three months. The holder of a (X) visa must go through residential formalities in the local public security department within thirty days of entry into China.
