About:Chinese Embassy in India

Hi,
I have a Indian passport and US green card living in New Jersey.
I am joining a pilgrimage tour to Kailash from India.
My tour organiser is getting us a group permit from Tibet and wants to apply then for a Group China visa.
Since I am reaching India only one day in advance of the tour, they are unable to take my original passport to the Chinese embassy in Delhi for the group visa.
For the group visa can they submit a copy of my passport?
A quick response is highly appreciated.
Thanks

Mrs.Jenna, you can contact the tour organizer to enquire whether you can provide the copy of your passport. I guess it is accepted because the Group Tourist Visa is not stamped on the passport, it is stamped on a separate paper.
