About:China Tourist Visa

I am a South African citizen on a 30 day tourist visa. I would like to renew my tourist visa for as long as possible. CTS in Hong Kong told my friend that as a South African citizen I will only be able to renew for 15 days. Can anyone confirm this, as in South Africa I was told that if I received my first tourist visa from South Africa (which I did), I would be able to renew it for 90 days without returning to South Africa. Please can someone let me know if they can confirm the amount of renewal days I can receive as a South African citizen.

Thanks.
