Question

Hi, I am a foreign student learning Chinese in Jilin province. I am going to Chengdu in June for a short trip, want to see ancient places and sights. Will anyone prompt me where to put up, the cheaper the better? I pay cash. Also - apart from the sights listed on this page, what other things of interest can I see in Chengdu? And please please! give me CHINESE NAMES for these, as I have to explain to taxi drivers or locals where exactly I want to get. And the Chinese names or addresses of hotels, if you know any budget ones. Thank you so much for help, I really need it - it will be the first time that I am traveling in a foreign country and trying to speak Chinese to locals, so all sort of information and advice will be a great help for me.

Hi Ela,I'm a Changchun native working in Beijing and I just have a travel back from Chengdu. The hotel of CNY200 per day or so is OK for you.The place I recommend, you can easily find them on Googlemap and then decide your travel plan.1. 文殊院(Wen Shu Yuan). 2. Then 春熙路 （Chun Xi Lu）The commercial center of Chengdu where you can go shopping and enjoy snacks.3. 宽窄巷子(Kuan Zhai Xiang Zi) is a good place to enjoy your spare time. You can find Chengdu snacks, tea, coffee and bars their. The buildings there remain ancient style.4. 武侯祠(Wu Hou Ci)The temple memorizes a famous minister in San Guo time which is about nearly 2000 years ago.5. 杜甫草堂(Du Fu Cao Tang). The place where one of the greatest China poet Du Fu had lived.6 锦里(Jin Li) is a good place for night life. If you have enough time and you like climb mountain, you can go:1. 青城山(Qing Cheng Shan) where is a Taoism shrine. And you can go there and back in Chengdu in one day.2. 峨眉山(E Mei Shan) where is a Buddhism shrine. You need 2-3 days .
