About:Chinese Embassy in Japan

Dear Sir,

I am a US citizen living in Japan with alien registration (married to a Japanese) and long term resident.

I am planning to visit a friend living in Shanghai May 21-26. I will not be staying in a hotel. Can I give her address and phone number instead of hotel certification for my visa application?
Also, my US passport, which is valid through 2016, currently has only 2 blank pages for endorsements/amendments and 2 blank pages for immigration entry/exit stamps. Are these enough pages to get the Chinese visa? I am worried that if the pages are too few, I will not have time to get extra pages added to my passport from the US Embassy and still have time to get the visa prior to my planned departure on May 21.

Please advise.

Many thanks!
Evelyn

Now, on your passport, do you have at least one blank visa page? china visa can only be stamped on the visa page of your passport. The 2 blank pages for endorsements/amendments can't be stamped with China visa.

you can provide the address and phone number of your friend, the hotel reservation is not required for USA applicants.
