About:Marriage Registration in China

Hi.i married a Chinese lady in Xian(CHINA)in 2006,We now live in my home Country Australia,My wife has her own Apartment there,and we are thinking that we would like to move there and live on a permantant basis,mainly because her parents are not well,Can we as a couple live in China permantly,and how do we go about this and making it happen.Thank you ,Alan Hodges.

Mr.Alan Hodges, you can leally reside in China permanently, married with a Chinese citizen doesn't mean that you are automatically entitled to live in China. You have a get a valid China visa to enter China. If you don't find a job in China, you can first apply for multiple-entry L visa for family visit because your wife is Chinese, then go to China and find a job, then get a work visa, change it into temporary residence permit (generally valid for 1 year) after entering China with work visa.
