I will be in Huangshan for 2 days, is it advisable to climb or is it easier to go by cable to top of mountain, we are staying one day at the base, then another at the top of the mountain, I read that this is China's famous tourist destination for the Locals, ie: Chinese themselves, is the month of May the worst time to visit? Would there be huge amounts of tourist? would the waiting line for the cable ride be a waste of time? as I heard that it could take up to 3 hours waiting time? is that true? I am unsure if walking up the mountain is better, if it is truly a 3 hours waiting period to take a 10 minute cable ride? can someone please advise! thanks

Is your destination Mt. Huashan or Mt. Huangshan? Anyway, the first week of May and the weekends are not good season for traveling. There will be crowds of Chinese tourists. The left dates of May is acceptable. If you come across lots of travelers that day, you do need to wait long hours for the cable car. If your destination is Mt. Huashan, I suggest you climb up on foot. It's really worthwhile. If is Huangshan, I suggest you choose a good time to take the cable ride.
