About:China Visa Renewal and Extension

I am in China on a tourist visa with 3 young children. All have U.S. passports with multiple entry for 60 day duration. I arrive on March 31st to Beijing and enrolled all three of the children in school. My 60 days will expire on May 30th. I need to stay until August 10, 2010 for them to finish out the semester. What are my best options? If I get a 30 day extensions, do I lose my multiple entry status? OR Do I need to leave China and then come back in twice to reach August 10th? I would like to avoid traveling with young chilren through mutliple airports. Or can I get some extra days by "dragging out" my extensions or get some "free days" like you mentioned above???

if you get a 30 days extensions, you will lose your multiple entry status, the first method is you and your 3 children exit China when the 60 days stay duration will expire, you can go to Hong Kong or Macau, then return to Mainland China again for another 60 days stay duration. The multiple-entry visa only permits 60 days stay per entry. the second method is to go to the local Exit & Enter Department to apply for extension of 3 months stay duration.
