About:China Weather

Dear MR HAnk, we are strongly considering a 3 week journey through China, including (a.o.) beijing, shanghai, and Li River area. We've been reading some pretty bad stories about torrential rain and flooding especially in the Li river area. Would you advise avoiding these areas and focus on different areas or is it that bad that you would suggest going in a totally different time of the year? (The latter would mean that we would have to postpone our plans to 2011) Thanx in advance

When will you come to China? If you come here in May, both of Beijing and Shanghai are in their nice time for traveling. Comfortable temperature, plenty of sunshine and less rainfal. It is reported that rainfall will visit Guilin in the coming week, but the cruise on the Li River has return to normal this week. So, you could have a try.

On the other hand, since the Expo will be held in Shanghai from May 1 to Oct 31, the city has been crowded with a large number of travelers already at present.
