You can't apply for China visa on line, application by post will not be accepted, either, the visa can be applied and collected in person or through someone entrusted by applicant.

It takes 3-5 working days by regular service to process a visa application once the application is accepted. And it takes 2-3 working days by express service to process a visa application, which is the quickest. No express Visa can be granted on the same day. Therefore, you can't collect your visa or paspsort on the same day.

You can download the visa application form from this website https://www.travelchinaguide.com/embassy/pdf/visa-application.pdf
