About:Beijing Capital International Airport

I will be flying from Hong Kong to Mngolia with a 4 hour transit stop in Beijing. My flight from Hong Kong to Beijing will be with Dragonair and from Beijing to Mongolia on MIAT. Will I have to go thru immigration and get boarding pass for my next flight to Mongolia or it is possible to get boarding pass inside transit area? [ My friend told me that she did thru immigration and got boarding pass for the next flight.Flight was Singapore - Beijing - Mongolia ]. Thanks

Firstly, since you will not take connecting flights, supplied by one airline company, you have to collect baggages at Beijing Airport and then re-check in.
Secondly, Dragonair is located in Terminal 3 but MIAT is in Terminal 2. So, after collecting your baggages, you should go through the immigration to the arrival hall of T3. Then, please take the free bus from T3 to T2, where you have to check in the MIAT and get your boarding pass.

Usually, 2~2.5 hours are enough for you to finish the transfer at Beijing Airport.

Dear sir,

Thanks for your fast reply.

Last April I have visited Mongolia [in same route]. That time I did exactly what you subjected. But this time, I was told that MIAT flights are departing from T3. My DragonAir flight will arrive at 5.20pm and after 3.50hr my MIAT flight will departure from T3.

In this case, will I have to go thru immigration? Is there any such rule that if your connecting flight is more than 3hrs then you should go thru immigration and re check your luggage?
