Hello. I will be flying through Chengdu, arriving at 10PM with flight out at 8AM, on way to Lijiang. I have a hotel reservation at Intercontinental Hotel in Chengdu for the night, not wanting to spend night in the airport. Is it difficult to find a taxi from airport to hotel? Will I need instructions for the driver in Chinese? Thanks

Yes, you could hire a cab driving to the hotel at night. Actually, the Chengdu Airport is located not far from downtown area, so the fare should be reasonable but the driver may ask for much more at night. It will be helpful to write down the hotel name and address in Chinese and show it to the driver.
